BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 27, 2024–Kiss My Maruska, a gelded son of Kiss My Hocks campaigned by the Heavy Hitters Racing Stables of Marcos Galvan and Hector Sabando, headlines Saturday's 300-yard, $397,702 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2) at Louisiana Downs.

An $88,000 purchase at last year's Texas QHA Yearling Sale in San Antonio, Kiss My Maruska was the fastest overall qualifier from his 1 1/2-length victory in one of 14 trials run March 7-8. Juan Diaz Jr. trains the sorrel gelding and half brother to 2022 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) finalist Brock Landers.

Kiss My Maruska drew post 8 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. Other contenders include Juan Servin's DM Nite Hawk, the fastest qualifier from the first night of trials. The sorrel son of the One Dashing Eagle stallion Hawkeye made his debut with a 1 3/4-length win in his trial. DM Nite Hawk was an $8,000 buy at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale.

DM Nite Hawk drew post 10 and will be ridden by Eleazar Hernandez for trainer Daniel Luna.
